The WWH Grand Isle Offshore Rodeo was a two day deep water fishing event for combat injured veterans on the WWH roster held annually at Bridge Side Marina in Grand Isle, LA. The invited veterans arrived Thursday, June 27th to meet their captains and camp owners. The volunteer boat captains and many camp owners came together to make this event possible for our veterans. They fished Friday and Saturday, June 28th and 29th. Only the veterans were allowed to enter fish into the rodeo. Plaques were given in each category. Each veteran left with either an additional trip or a door prize valued at least $250. All the fish caught were cleaned by volunteers and each veteran left with an ice chest of cleaned fish.

This 2-day fishing rodeo meant that some of the bigger boats stayed offshore overnight. For most of our members, this trip was beyond their means. For some, it was a trip of a lifetime.

Each night everyone, including veterans, captains, camp owners and sponsors came together for a meal donated by even more WWH Grand Isle Offshore Rodeo supporters. So, as you can see, without the support of the community, WWH couldn’t have pulled off this event. We thank you for your support!
